The Meaning Behind Your Favorite Flowers

Here at Rosewater, we speak through our love of florals. The blend of textures, colors, and shapes fuel our creativity, and inspire room-altering designs. But did you know that each flower has its own meaning? We asked our beloved followers to name their favorite flower. The results are in and today we want to share the meaning behind these blooming beauties.

Roses

Of course, we have start with the rose. It’s in our name, after all. Classically, the rose represents affection. Roses are very versatile and because they’re a pricier flower, demonstrate genuine interest and luxury.

Orchids

These are popular for a reason. Orchids add a touch of organic grace to any room. While they may appear delicate, they were actually a symbol of health, strength and even virility in Ancient Greece. Today, they maintain their luxurious appeal while being easy to care for, making them an enduring gesture for any occasion.

Birds of Paradise

Inspired by their unique bird-like shape, these exquisite flowers bloom in bold, majestic colors. In other words, they make a statement. Native to South Africa, this flower represents hope, romantic faithfulness, and magnificence. We can get on board.

Hydrangeas

These flowers symbolize gratitude and to no one’s surprise… beauty. Hydrangeas add lush volume to any floral arrangement. While they are extravagant, they’re also soft, making them balanced and a compatible pairing with other flowers.

Peonies

Peonies are a sweet contribution to any floral arrangement. They are composed of many petals and known to have a natural perfume-like aroma. These flowers symbolize good fortune.

Tulips

Although Tulips have been around for centuries, these structed flowers can be quite modern. Tulips symbolize “perfect love,” which is why you will see them attached to Easter and springtime celebrations.
