Let's Talk About Logistics

Welcome back to our mini–Pro-Tip series, where we address common “how to” questions from the perspective of a luxury florist. Let’s dive into the logistics - the questions you may have before, during, and after your luxury event.

1. How Soon Should You Book Your Florist?

Begin interviewing and book your florist as soon as you know your date. While you may not have your design consultation right away, you don’t want to miss an opportunity to work with your dream florist.

2. Who Cleans Up After Your Event?

Your vendors reflect you and should take ownership of the space, leaving it how we found it. This requires a cleanup team, reflected in your proposal. As much as we love your friends and family, we want them to enjoy the celebration, and will require the additional labor to be calculated in your overall design budget.

3. How do You Get Your Flowers?

Your florals will always be ordered with tip-top quality in mind. Fresh florals are ordered weeks to months in advance, depending on the type of flowers and season. They get delivered the week before your event and that’s when we start prepping. Your actual arrangements will be created the day before your event or at the venue the day of, as some installations require us to be at the venue. Silk flowers are ordered and delivered months before the event and provide the flexibility to start arranging as soon as possible. However, like fresh flowers, some installations require the venue to create the magic.

4. What Happens to the Flowers After Your Event?

If you use fresh flowers, many people choose to donate or take them home to beautify their space or repurpose them. However, if you use artificial flowers, depending on if they are owned or rented, we will deconstruct the arrangements and use them in other creative ways.

5. Should You Use Real or Silk Flowers?

There are benefits to both, however, there is nothing quite like fresh, fluffy florals. However, when arranged correctly, you may be surprised just how beautiful foe flowers can look. The key is you MUST use quality silk flowers. Luxury always requires extra investments in materials!
